The company was founded in early 1880 in the village of Bäckefors Bruk, by Sven Axel Wetterling. Wetterlings Axes were some of the most popular axes made for a time. They were also a best seller here at HatchetsandAxes.com. Unfortunately, they no long manufacture axes under the Wetterlings brand. Gransfors Bruks is the brand they will be manufacturing for in the future.
